Peer Support Calls
Our Peer Support Service is here to help if you’ve been newly diagnosed with sight loss or have recently experienced a significant deterioration in your vision.
This service provides a safe and supportive space where you can:
- Share your experience of sight loss.
- Listen to others’ stories and gain insights.
- Discuss challenges you face, such as at work, with travel, or adjusting to new ways of doing things.
- Explore concerns about how family and friends may react and address their worries.
Our Peer Support Volunteers, who have lived experience of sight loss, can help you navigate these challenges. They can also offer practical advice on everyday tasks like reading, travelling, and engaging in conversations.
How Is Peer Support Different?
Unlike our Telephone Befriending Service, Peer Support Calls are designed to provide short-term support tailored to your immediate needs. If you require additional help, we’ll guide you to other services or resources that can offer ongoing support.
