Volunteering

Do you want to make a purposeful contribution to your community and prove a real life-line to isolated visually impaired people?

Like most charities, Sight Concern Bedfordshire relies on volunteers to help us deliver services to our clients. We are always looking for new volunteers so if you have an hour or so to spare every week we would love to hear from you.

Volunteer roles are many and wide ranging so there will always be something to suit you. Maybe you have some IT skills which could be used to show visually impaired people how to access technology. If you have an hour to spare you could befriend a visually impaired person with a weekly telephone call. This will help combat loneliness amongst the community and make a real difference to people’s lives. You could help at our low vision clinics or one of our many social groups. The possibilities are endless.

You will receive full visual awareness training before you start and we guarantee it will be a rewarding experience.
